Set 3 starts with the bar and finishes with plate
work. The final set of Deadlifts and Upright Rows
with the bar is the perfect time to connect with
your participants to excite them for the workout
ahead. Prepare them about the transition to
a plate for the Plate Clean & Press and Plate
Power Press. We finish with Backward-Stepping
Lunges, starting with the leg pattern, then
integrate the Overhead Plate Press using clear
Layer 1 Position and Execution cues to get your
class moving safely and effectively.
· Deadlift – keep the bar close and re-engage
the core
· Upright Row – shoulders should be feeling
primed, ready for the workout ahead
· Plate Clean & Press – pull the plate up, drop
under, brace the abs, chest up
· Plate Power Press – use your legs and
integrate arms
· Alternating Backward-Stepping Lunge
with Overhead Press – long step back, rear
knee down, front thigh parallel to the floor,
shoulders and hips square to front, elbows
forward of face
